Village Company was founded by Elina in 2021, stemming from her extensive background with horses. After using sheep wool on her own horses to treat swelling and bruising, she came up with the idea to develop a product based on the many health benefits of wool. Sheep wool is known for its antibacterial properties and its ability to effectively reduce fluid and swelling, especially in the horse's legs. After testing the product on her own horses and receiving positive feedback, Elina decided to use sheep wool from Finnmark, known for its high lanolin content. This made the product both sustainable and effective. Wooler, the brand that was later launched, has become a recognized product in horse care, and veterinarians particularly recommend it for the rehabilitation of tendon injuries.
