Tilla Oy was founded in 2013 to include the Solheds brand and the Derma product line, with the aim of improving animal welfare. The company develops high-quality products for animal care, using natural raw materials and employing research and development processes similar to those used by pharmaceutical companies. The founder, Saija Pihkanen, holds a master's degree in biochemistry and has previously worked as a researcher in veterinary medicine. After experiencing skin issues with her own horses, she developed natural solutions for summer eczema, which led to the creation of the Derma product line. Tilla Oy is a family-owned company, with the entire family involved in its operations. The products are biodegradable and produced with sustainable principles. The raw materials are mostly organic and traceable to their origin, and production is carried out with low energy consumption, resulting in a low carbon footprint. Tilla Oy places great emphasis on animal-friendly and environmentally conscious production, using no harmful chemicals or petrochemical products in its products.
